Little Sparrow Plays at the Portico Library

  • The Portico Library 57 Mosley Street Manchester, England, M2 3HY United Kingdom (map)

Come and immerse yourself in the music and performance of Little Sparrow, set in the gorgeous surroundings of our library.

The Portico Library is delighted to welcome Little Sparrow to perform her delicately crafted songs in our magical book filled space. Little Sparrow draws on influences as diverse as Kate Bush, All About Eve and PJ Harvey, woven into the colourful tapestry of her music, often with a mysterious fairytale-like quality. As captivating to watch as she is to listen to, her delicately emotive use of expression mirrors the sincerity of her delivery making her someone not to be missed.

Katie formed Little Sparrow in 2010, a title that came from Elbow front man Guy Garvey. He affectionately called her 'Cockney Sparrow’ which led onto her stage name ‘Little Sparrow'.

She performs regularly with a band of talented musicians that provide a mix of harmonies, strings, guitars, pedal steel and percussion.

£12.50 book here. Doors open 6.30pm.
