Join writer and Portico Kitchen manager Joe Fenn to explore the local and global history of vegetarianism, from international origins, through the formation of the first vegetarian societies in Manchester and Salford, and on to the modern vegan movement sweeping across the world. Joe will bring this story to life through taster dishes cooked to historical, contemporary, and futuristic recipes which illustrate his talk. Price includes a welcome drink, canapes, and three taster dishes.

Joe Fenn is the manager of the Portico Kitchen. He has worked in hospitality for over a decade, from fast food to silver service and from Amsterdam to New Zealand. His essays and criticism have been published internationally, including with the University of Iowa, and he has spoken at venues across the North West, including the Leeds Library, the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, and Manchester Metropolitan University’s Poetry Library.
